3rd FEB 2017 Ladies A with Another Win
At home to N. Walsham the Ladies A Team needed a win to keep the pressure on at the top of the league. Joy Pearson, Lynne Cannell and Geraldine Reeve went into a 11-1 lead after 5 ends continued their domination to be 21-4 at 10 and won 24-8. Sheila Stacey, Amy Barker and Marion Himpleman went from 1-5 down to 8 each at 9 ends, then 11each at 12, finished in style winning 15-11. Jenny Ramsbottom, Edna Land and Mel Haylett were 5-2 up at 5 then hit a golden patch to go 17-4 at 10 and won 21-4. Margaret Arnold, Lillian Barber and Jenny Kirby were 7-8 down at 8 ends then 14-8 up at 10 and went on to win 18-15.
Result 78 – 38 and all 8 pts.
The Next day the Ladies A were off to Diss and looking for another win. Joy Pearson, Elaine Cole and Jenny Kirby started with a 5, followed by a 5 and by 5 ends were12-3 up by 10 it was 17-5 and won 19-7. Lynne Cannell, Gwyn Xuereb and Marion Himpleman scored a 5 on the 4th end and by 7 ends were15-3 going on to win 21-10. Andrea Morton, Marie Morton and Geraldine Reeve went 6-4 at 5 and 11-6 at 10 and won 13-11. Mel Hayletts trio dropped a 5 on the 5th and never recovered losing 9-12.
Result 62 – 40 and 7 – 1 pts
Ladies B Bounce Back
At home to Wymondham B the Ladies B needed to get another win after losing the first game of the season last time. Caroline Hines, Sandra Faircloth and Margaret Shields scored a 4 to go 8-4 up at 5 ends played well and kept the opposition poor as they won 15-8. Sandra Edmonds, Jude Ward and Julia Crosby dropped a 6 on the 4th end to go 0-11 down, two 4’s helped it to 11 each at 8 and in a brilliant recovery won 15-14. Jean Claxton, Sue Moore and Shirley Genery went 7-0 up at 4 ends, then 10-8 at 10 and in a Nip and Tuck final end won 12-11. Pam Symes, Zoe Roberts and Rose Yaxley were 4 each at 6 ends then 13-5 at 10 and held on to win 13-10.
Result 55 – 43 and 7 – 1 pts to keep top of table.

Josh Sticks one over Browston
Away to Browston A the Mens B were looking for points. Johnstone Mackie, Dennis Edwards, Alan Benson-Nutt and Josh Baxter scored a 7 on the first end, a 6 on the 6th and by 10 ends had crushed Browston to 27-5, went on to dominate and won 36-16. Mick Askham’s rink scored a 5 on the 5th but dropped a 5 on the 10th to go 9-18, a 5 on the 12th helped a recovery and were 19-20 at 14, but lost 22-27. Barney Wymer’s rink were 4-13 at 10 and 7-24 with 3ends to play and came back to finish 15-24. Brian Grint’s rink were 3-15 down at 8ends came back to 11-16 at 12 and 11-19 at 16 won the final 5ends and were robbed of victory by the final bowl losing 18-19.
