Acle Set National Record

Acle Indoor Bowls who have just completed their season are now accepting domestic league entries for the 2017/18 season until the 1st May. Details of all the leagues can be found on the club website.

The club have had their best ever season with the Men winning the County 1st and 2nd Divisions and the Ladies winning the County 2nd Division. The Mens C team not wishing to be left behind also won promotion to the 2nd Division.

Any players wishing to be considered for inclusion in the County League sides should contact the respective captains, also to be found on the website.

The club also won the Norfolk Top Club League.

On the National front the club had representatives at the National Championships in no less than 14 disciplines – a national record .

Plus two of the up and coming youngsters from the club have also won through to the National Finals of the English Youth Development Scheme to be played at Melton Mowbray next October. They are Tia Linford in the U14s and Ryan Garman in the U16s categories.We wish them well.

For those who wish to ‘have a go’ at bowls the club are holding an Open Day on Sunday 30th April from 10-00am to noon and also beginners classes will take place every Tuesday evening from 6-30pm starting on Tuesday 2nd May for 5 weeks. Everyone welcome ,with free coaching and free use of equipment. A great family sport played in a fantastic and friendly club.st
