Whilst many bowlers are enjoying their outdoor bowls ,Acle Indoor Bowls Officials are finalising their winter leagues ready for their new season which starts in late September.
If there are any bowlers who wish to enter teams in the Acle winter leagues they need to contact the club without delay as league entries close on the 16th June ( 01493 750869)Wednesday afternoon or Friday evening..
One fixture already agreed and players are eagerly looking forward to is the first county league first division match between Acle Mens A team known as the ‘Harriers’ and their newly promoted B team, who are now sponsored by Rhino Builders Supplies, so the match will be billed as ‘Harriers v Rhinos’.
Dates for your future diary are the next’ bowls beginners course’ which will start on Sunday morning from 10-00am to noon on Sunday Sept 3rd, followed by every Tuesday evening in September from the 5th Sept starting at 6-30pm. No appointments needed ,just turn up. Equipment will be provided and free coaching given. A rink fee of only £2-50 will be charged, anyone Under 18 will be a £1-00.
An ideal sport for the family, or those on their own, played in a safe environment with good company. A chance to meet a future friend for life perhaps, or be your first step in representing your country at the Commonwealth Games.
Acle has a reputation for producing talent, as they have already provided England with 12 England Junior Internationals and the club have won over 90 county and 10 National Titles.
